It can be visited only upon request or during special events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_%E2%80%93_The_Riu_Mulinu_Nuraghe_in_Cabu_Abbas\"><\/span>4 \u2013 The Riu Mulinu Nuraghe in Cabu Abbas<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A <strong>visit to a nuraghe<\/strong> is a must for anyone exploring Sardinia. The <strong>Riu Mulinu Nuraghe<\/strong> in Cabu Abbas dates back to between 1300 and 1200 BC and consists of a central tower surrounded by defensive walls with two entrances. Thanks to its position, it is believed to have played a defensive role and served as an important lookout point over the <strong>Gulf of Olbia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The nuraghe may also have had a religious function. A <strong>sacrificial pit<\/strong> was discovered on the site containing ceramic fragments and burnt bone remains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_%E2%80%93_The_Sacred_Well_of_Sa_Testa\"><\/span>5 \u2013 The Sacred Well of Sa Testa<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Sacred Well of Sa Testa<\/strong>, of Nuragic origin, features the typical geometric structure and staircase descending between perfectly cut stone walls, leading to a conical chamber. It was discovered around 1930 during a search for a water source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sanctuary is about 18 metres long and its external shape resembles a keyhole, symbolising the <strong>gateway between the world of the living and the dead<\/strong>.
