There is a hidden Sardinia, known only to a few, far from crowded beaches and <strong>reachable by car<\/strong> or via trekking routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Murals\"><\/span>Murals<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the lesser-known places to visit, first of all, are the villages of the <strong>Sardinian murals<\/strong>. There are several towns, especially inland, that are true open-air museums, <strong>colorful canvases under a blue sky<\/strong>. Which destinations do we recommend?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Orgosolo<\/strong>, in the heart of Barbagia;<\/li>\n<li><strong>San Gavino Monreale<\/strong>, also known for its saffron;<\/li>\n<li><strong>San Sperate<\/strong>, officially declared an open-air museum and also famous for the sound stone sculptures by Pinuccio Sciola;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fonni<\/strong>, mainly visited in winter by snow sports enthusiasts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Beaches\"><\/span>Beaches<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to murals, we suggest visiting some of the <strong>less famous beaches<\/strong> that are just as beautiful. In most cases, they are located along the <strong>western coast of the island<\/strong>, less well-known compared to other coastal areas. Among the beaches we recommend are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Porto Pino<\/strong>, with its stunning white sand dunes;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Porto Paglia Beach<\/strong>, near Nebida and Masua;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cala Domestica<\/strong>, in Buggerru;<\/li>\n<li><strong>San Giovanni di Sinis<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Is Arutas<\/strong> and <strong>Mari Ermi<\/strong>, famous for their rice-grain sand.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Visiting these beaches is recommended during the cooler months because, although less well-known, the places we mentioned are still very popular with local residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Nuraghi\"><\/span>Nuraghi<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Is it possible to visit Sardinia without <strong>seeing the nuraghi<\/strong>? Of course not! Few people know that there are more than <strong>7,000 nuraghi<\/strong> on the island, many of them unknown and almost abandoned. Compared to other parts of the island, here you can find numerous locations that preserve the true essence of this land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this area, you can enjoy wonderful <strong>hiking excursions<\/strong> and discover some <strong>routes that will amaze you<\/strong>. Among the most beautiful and recommended ones are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ulassai rock formations, Punta Genna Obida;<\/li>\n<li>Monte Ortobene forests;<\/li>\n<li>Sacred spring of Su Tempiesu in Orune, dating back to the Nuragic period;<\/li>\n<li>Corbeddu Cave in Oliena;<\/li>\n<li>Supramonte and the springs of Su Gologone;<\/li>\n<li>The Casa Museo of Grazia Deledda;<\/li>\n<li>Su Gorroppu Gorge, the deepest canyon in Europe.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These are just some of the lesser-known destinations you can visit in Sardinia. Our advice is to <strong>rent a car or a scooter<\/strong> and travel along the roads to discover fascinating places, often unknown even to those who live on the island.
