La Pelosa Beach is one of the most spectacular stretches of sand in Sardinia. The pure white shoreline—so bright it can feel almost dazzling on the sunniest days—creates a perfect contrast with the sea in shades of blue and turquoise. The shallow, crystal-clear waters surround the 17th-century structure known as Torre Pelosa, which stands on the small islet just offshore, while the islands of Piana and Asinara lie nearby.

With colours that evoke tropical landscapes, this slice of paradise draws crowds during the summer months. To prevent coastal erosion and protect the area’s wild beauty, controlled access has been introduced. To visit the beach, you must book your spot online and show the QR Code at the entrance.

La Pelosa Beach: where it is and how to get there
La Pelosa Beach lies 2 km from Stintino, in the northern part of Capo Falcone. It is about 50 km from Alghero and about 160 km from Olbia, the main airport hub in the north of the region.
A car is the best way to travel around Sardinia independently and without worries. You can rely on our services to rent a car at Olbia Airport. Ellepi Rental offers a wide choice thanks to a fleet that includes many models, from stylish and zippy Fiat 500s to crossovers for larger groups: in our car fleet you can find the option that suits you best, with support from our staff, who will gladly help you with booking details.
From Olbia, it is easy to reach the beach by taking the E840 highway towards Sassari, then following the signs for Stintino. Once you get close to the village at the island’s north-western tip, simply follow Provincial Road 34 with clear signage to reach La Pelosa Beach and leave your car in the designated roadside spaces or in private car parks.
Fees and rules to follow for access to La Pelosa
From 15 May to 15 October, La Pelosa Beach is open to the public only through a regulated access system. Booking via the Municipality of Stintino app requires a payment of €3.50 per person.
Everyone included in the booking must carry identification documents. To enjoy an unforgettable day, keep a few simple rules in mind: they make your stay safer and help create a better experience for everyone. The first and most important rule is the no-smoking policy. Smoking is prohibited on the beach not only to protect others’ health, but also to avoid leaving cigarette butts behind. For similar reasons, using detergents, soaps and shampoos for washing is forbidden; instead, choose wipes and anything that does not contaminate the water.
All waste must be collected and taken away, and it is not allowed to take sand, shells or stones as souvenirs. From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the beach is off-limits to pets of any size, while street vending is strictly prohibited. This not only makes the experience more relaxing, but also helps further regulate access.
Other guidelines from the Municipality of Stintino include using the dedicated fountains to remove sand from your feet and the obligation to place mats under towels, always with the aim of preserving the coastline and avoiding any contribution to beach erosion.

La Pelosa Beach: how to book your spot, sunbeds and umbrellas
To make a booking, refer exclusively to the Municipality of Stintino app. Be careful, as there are some fake portals that may mislead those who are less used to using digital tools to access services. On the municipality website you will find the link to download the app, so you can rely on the correct platform. Once you log in, you’ll find several intuitive features, including the main menu, the option to change the language, and all the buttons needed to complete the booking or request assistance.
To reserve access for a single day, you can do so within the 48 hours before the date. Of the 1,500 available spots, 1,000 can be booked no earlier than two days in advance. Each booking can include up to a maximum of 4 people, and a user can register a maximum of one booking per day. Families travelling with children do not need to count kids under 12 in the booking. Some accommodation facilities partnered with the Municipality of Stintino have a number of spots already included in the total. Out of the 1,500 available spots, 500 can be booked for a longer period. Costs and constraints do not change: the booking can include up to 4 people plus any children under 12, at a cost of €3.50 per person. The maximum period is 31 days per booking. Inside the app, a calendar shows real-time availability.
This digital tool is the best way to plan your trip to La Pelosa Beach, thanks to updates every 60 minutes and the option to contact support. Once the process is complete, you receive a QR Code to show staff so you can enjoy the beauty of this enchanting place. The QR Code generated during booking must be shown from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., when access control ends.
To reserve sunbeds and umbrellas, you can contact partnered facilities or, alternatively, the beach club. Sunbeds and umbrellas can be rented directly on site at authorised kiosks, without needing to complete the online booking.
Discover Stintino and La Pelosa Beach in total comfort
Many places in Sardinia are wrapped in mystery, but that is not the case with Stintino, a small town whose founding date is known precisely. Stintino was founded on 14 August 1885 at the initiative of the newly formed Government of Italy, which decided to establish on Asinara Island a maritime quarantine health station and a penal colony.
It’s not surprising that this earthly paradise was used for such purposes: around the world there are many examples of spectacular islands whose limited size and easy controllability made them suitable as places of detention or convalescence.
Today, lively Stintino and its most famous pearl, La Pelosa Beach, could not be further from that past, with views to admire, plenty of water activities to enjoy, and venues where you can taste the area’s excellent cuisine.
Book your car and pick it up at Olbia Airport to start an unforgettable trip discovering Sardinian beauties such as La Pelosa Beach.
